Chief Commissioner Ilirian Celibashi, at a press conference on Thursday, provided details about the diaspora vote.
"85 countries of the world were involved. The process of preparing the electoral document began on April 14 and ended on April 17. The first shipments were made around the 12th and on the 17th we also received the first shipments from voters from abroad. April 29 was the day with the largest number of votes received at the CEC. Only 16 voters in Russia were unable to send documentation. 82% of voters participated in the vote, and if we evaluate it in relation to the number of those who received it, it goes almost to 97%", said Celibashi, writes A2.
Regarding the counting process, Celibashi emphasized: "All documentation was administered in boxes that contained this documentation according to the regularity, divided into two groups. In 945 boxes, documentation that was regular was administered; in 14 boxes, documentation that, after opening the DHL envelope, was found not to be in accordance with the CEC protocol. We had 1 such box for each region and 2 for Tirana."
