The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, attacked Prime Minister Edi Rama, relying on the accusations leveled against him by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.
"Arben Ahmetaj performed an autopsy on the crime regime from 2015 to today. Arben Ahmetaj, as a witness with documents, as a physical, eyewitness, told Albanians that Edi Rama and his government function as a criminal organization. That Edi Rama forced Erion Veliaj to sign the Tirana arson and together with him they stole 130 million euros. We will never agree with this thief that the history of Albania has never known such. My friends, the McGonigal file is Edi Rama's open coffin. Every night, in the last two months, he dreams of Riker's Island. That's where he will end up, at McGonigal's. I guarantee you that after the elections I will pack him up, have him serve his sentence and then return," Berisha said at the protest held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, A2 CNN reports.
After the protest, Berisha left for a meeting in Italy, but mentioned to his supporters the messages he received from the meeting held in Germany this week. “Dear friends, a few days ago I was in Berlin. I participated in the congress of the largest center-right party in Europe, the German Christian Democratic Union CDU. There I shook hands warmly with the future Chancellor of Germany. I met old friends. I met new friends. They are eagerly awaiting the victory of the DP to build an excellent relationship between the two countries. I solemnly pledged that from Albania, zero export of refugees and crime to Europe. This is our pledge, zero tolerance,” Berisha said. (A2 Televizion)
