We are just a few minutes away from the start of the Democratic Party's national protest, with opposition supporters beginning to gather in the capital.
Most of them are expected to start the march towards the Prime Minister's Office from the blue headquarters. A2 CNN journalist Anesti Bajramemaj reports that citizens are holding national, EU and US flags, as well as banners that highlight the government's rampant luxury, according to them.
Some of the banners feature bottles of wine, which former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj said Prime Minister Edi Rama drank in his office, but also other photos of the Garden of Eden that was built inside the courtyard of the Prime Minister's Office.
The main speech at the protest will be delivered by the Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, while the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, who has been in detention for several months, will address the citizens through an audio recording.
The General Secretary of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, has also confirmed that today's national protest called by the united opposition will feature an audio message from the President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta. (A2 Televizion)
