"Additional care is needed in Kosovo", Shtuni: The US should be

"I hope there will be a final agreement on normalization between Kosovo and Serbia very soon, but I don't see it as something that can be imposed." This is what security expert Ardian Shtuni said on "Çdo kët" with Merita Haklajn on A2 CNN, according to which the parties must find an acceptable and workable formula in the long term.

"The parties must find an acceptable formula that is workable in the long term, not just games where they nod their heads and then walk out the door and pretend nothing happened. There can be a solution accepted by the parties if there is will and sincerity. Normalization will come when it is understood as an internal need and not as an honor paid to the EU and the US."

According to expert Shtuni, Kosovo should be extra careful and treat the US, its strategic ally, with Trump's presidency, as a partner.

"Kosovo must cooperate with the US in a sincere and continuous manner, and the stronger the partnership relationship with the US, the stronger Kosovo is. If it does not treat its main ally, the US, as a partner, then this will create problems, especially with a president like Trump who is not very patient, so increased caution is needed in Kosovo."

Asked about the hypotheses and possibilities of removing Berisha from the Trump administration's non grata status, Shtuni stated that anyone who claims to know what will happen is only speculating and muddying the waters.

"I can't predict it. Trump is unpredictable, I don't know what he will do in this case. These are issues that go beyond the president and technically the State Department can revoke the corruption listing, if it finds that there are circumstances that have changed and deserve to be reassessed or if there are changes with US security, the Secretary of State can revoke an appointment, but it is a matter of evidence and not a matter of the president's preference. Anyone who says they know everything that happens is speculating and muddying the waters. These are procedural issues."

On A2 CNN, Shtuni emphasized that Russia, China, and Iran are threatening global stability and NATO countries, according to him, must increase their combat capabilities.

"If you want peace, prepare to be ready for war. When you have Russia, China, Iran, North Korea constantly threatening peace and stability, only criminally incompetent leaders do not understand the need to increase combat readiness and increase defense capabilities. All NATO countries should have this as a priority. Wars are happening in Europe and on the doorstep of Europe. The US withdrawal from NATO is not a decision made by the president alone, because the Senate must vote by 2/3 to approve the withdrawal or be approved by Congress with a specific law. Military alliances are like marriages, they are not charitable partnerships, if they do not understand that they are making the expense to protect themselves."

Regarding the conflicts in Ukraine, Shtuni emphasizes that the only solution is at the diplomatic table.

"The only solution is at the diplomatic table. Russia is tired, Ukraine is weakened, people are being lost. I think there will be a demilitarized zone. Russia has occupied 20% of the territory and I think there will be a peacekeeping force that will protect the front line. I think another condition will be that Ukraine for 20 years does not seek to apply for 20 years and the guarantee that Russia will not attack it again."

According to the expert, peace between Israel and Palestine will not be resolved on the battlefield, but will be political.

"Peace will mostly depend on the stance of Israel and Palestine and the assistance that Arab countries should provide. I don't think Israel will solve it on the battlefield, I think the solution will be political, there should be two states and more internal will between the parties is needed than external imposition. There is hope." (A2 Televizion)
