Sali Berisha warns: We will continue civil disobedience in the world

In his weekly press conference, Sali Berisha stressed that it is unacceptable that two-thirds of Albanians are excluded from the right to vote due to the lack of Albanian documents. He stated that, despite the compromise made, this is an unacceptable concession, as many Albanians in the diaspora do not have valid Albanian identity cards or passports.

Berisha demanded that the Central Election Commission (CEC) take official steps to implement the Constitutional Court's decision and express a public stance. He also warned that if this decision is not implemented, a powerful civil disobedience movement will be organized, starting from Albania and continuing globally, with powerful protests in front of embassies, writes A2 CNN.

"So, we made the compromise, but since it was also requested in the sense that we make changes with mutual concessions, this should not be a concession at all because there cannot be a political force that agrees to punish two-thirds of Albanians for not having Albanian ID cards or passports in their pockets."

In this context, I once again invite, first of all, the CEC to make official demarches and express itself publicly because the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision is a major constitutional obligation.

Otherwise, we will organize the most powerful demonstrations near the embassies of the narco-state, but not only near the embassies.

So, a new powerful movement of civil disobedience will begin, the one that is in Albania, will continue in the world.

We can never agree with the fear and absurdity that the regime shows towards the immigration vote.

This means excluding at least 1 million Albanians from the right to vote.

Because it has become very clear, Eurostat says 1.1 million Albanians from 2014 to 2022. Of them, about 200 thousand are unlegalized. The rest are either family reunification, or legalized. So, two-thirds or more are that they want to exclude them in this way.

I'm not saying that all of them don't have documents, but overall they don't have documents.

And from all over the country we are notified that we are not able to register due to documents.

Once again, I call on all immigrants and the diaspora to prepare for the most powerful protests in front of the embassies representing the narco-state, which seeks to punish them and de facto deny them the right to vote.

"This constitutes a very serious, very big violation, the exclusion of 1 million Albanians just because they do not have an Albanian document, is unheard of ever," said Sali Berisha. (A2 Televizion)
