"No vote is held on this issue in parliament, if it is denied, if the parliament does not accept, but sanctions the practice of denying 2/3 of Albanians the right to vote, nor is it a question of us never accepting this. It is beyond any possibility of accepting this," Berisha said.
When asked why these conditions were not placed at the table mediated by the CEC between the parties, to come up with a complete joint draft, Berisha places the responsibility on Edi Rama.
"It was unimaginable, to tell the truth, that someone would dare to say that only those with Albanian documents would vote. Once you get an American, German or French passport, it is a much more powerful passport than yours. Whatever you need it for, you can only keep it as a relic. It was unthinkable that this could rise up against it," Berisha said.
But as the fight with the SP continues to find an agreement on its demands, the Democrats have also started an internal battle over the primaries. Berisha was careful to silence any voice against this process, saying that the statute is above all.
"The political leaders of the districts will be decided by the National Council. But the closed list will be determined by the race, the primaries and the result of the primaries."
Regarding the women's right to vote in the US, he denied having any lobbying contract on his behalf for its removal, but claimed that he would undertake this process soon.
"With the return of President Donald Trump to the White House and the change of Secretary of State, I will undoubtedly make my efforts with this administration to cancel a thoroughly corrupt decision," Berisha said.
Berisha said that so far he has not spent any money on lobbying, but if such actions are to be carried out, he will first consult with lawyers.
