The announcement of SPAK head Altin Dumani as an anti-corruption champion by the US State Department sparked a debate on A2 CNN regarding the activity and standards of the Special Prosecutor's Office.
For the democrat Ilir Alimehmeti, this is positive news for Altin Duman but not for Albania. According to him, on the list were the most corrupt countries in the world.
"Definitely positive for Mr. Dumani, but not for us. In the list were the most corrupt countries in the world. Where there is the biggest fuss, there is also this effect. It is positive, it is the end of the administration and it distributes some certificates".
According to him, SPAK has problems with the speed of processes and acts with two standards for the majority of the opposition, while bringing to attention the issue of incinerators.
"We have a problem with the speed of these processes, delayed justice is absent justice. Allow damage to occur. You have to stop the money hemorrhaging. We know that the incinerator does not exist. The incinerator is in SPAK and we pay the money. Block this, it's hemorrhaging money away. If you did not save the patient's life, it is useless to discuss what disease he escaped from. There are delays that I would not like to see, but I see it as positive for Mr. Dumani, we want to do anti-corruption with two standards".
In the same line, the secretary for public relations in the DP, Jola Hysaj, shares the opinion about the rapid lack of transparency of SPAK and the two standards.
"Dumani has achieved the statistical objectives that were requested of him. SPAK is not one of the institutions that has had clear transparency, or the speed of carrying out actions. There should have been an interruption of Veliaj's mandate and the end of the incinerators".
For analyst Arion Sulo, the assessment for Duman was expected, as it is an American investment. According to him, SPAK is currently the most reliable institution, since in 120 years of the state, the Albanians did not have justice, but he says, it is still about the facade and not about the substance.
"Expected action from the USA for their investment in the reform of justice in the Balkans. They had it with Dvoran. This is their investment in Albania. SPAK is currently the most reliable institution due to several factors. For 120 years as a state, we have no justice, ordinary citizens who yearn for justice have no justice. SPAK is taking the Eurofina from the public, but we are still in the facade, not in substance and judgments, in standardization in that the law is equal for everyone".
Sulo emphasizes that two vectors operate in SPAK; Rama and the Americans.
"The Americans hereby confirm their support for the head of SPAK and this proves that two vectors operate in SPAK, Rama and the Americans. It is under the influence of Rama, Veliaj. For the opposition, we have had no delays, and the USA played a role here, while for the majority, we have absurdities that the incinerators are closed, Veliaj is not in court, sterilization, Beqaj is not".
For the analyst Plator Nesturo, the evaluation of Altin Duman from the USA is beyond the name, but it is for SPAK.
"First of all, it is not for Duman personally, but support for SPAK, which has full credibility. SPAK has become a phenomenon that is not only about the name, but has the support of all international factors. SPAK has turned into a phenomenon that is not simply about justice and it is not understood whether politics is revolving around SPAK or SPAK has surrounded politics".
Asked if the opposition should withdraw its harsh language towards SPAK and Duman, Alimehmeti answers: "I am an institutional type and I respect institutions, but they give the price to the individual. I discuss the institution as being sustainable. We cannot connect the issues with a specific name and we think that a country that had corruption at an endemic level and with McGonical we have brought it to a pandemic level, and we think that these 20 men and women of SPAK will solve it. We do nothing to prevent corruption. A simple one could be to limit the number of mandates of voters, we have a problem with proper names. We must prevent it and not solve it afterwards. My proposal is; limit the number of mandates, because water that stays in one place for a long time stinks and hardens". (A2 Televizion)
