The head of the Nisma Thurje (part of the Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet coalition), Endri Shabani, revealed on 'Ditari i Pasdites' on A2 CNN with journalist Loneta Progni why this group of political parties is not led by him, but by Adriatik Lapaj.
Shabani said that there was no debate at all regarding this issue and an agreement was reached very quickly, as according to him, the discussion group had agreed that Lapaj, as the youngest and most popular, could be the right person to hold this responsibility.
He also added that he personally feels professionally fulfilled and that he looks at politics not for personal ambitions, but to do something to change Albania.
Excerpts from the studio discussion:
Question: Why should Adriatik Lapaj lead the coalition and not you?
Shabani: I have exhausted my personal ambition, through my professional career. When I completed my doctorate at Oxford, I think I am professionally fulfilled. And I did not enter politics to become someone, but as a sacrifice to change Albania. I believe that I can make a contribution to this. So we have not had any debate about leadership issues. The consensus in the group has been to leave this responsibility to Adriatik, since he is the youngest of us and it seems that he is also the most popular of us. We have not had any debate about this, this has been the easiest decision. (A2 Televizion)
