Former President of Albania, Alfred Moisiu, has commented on the recent developments in Kosovo and the relationship between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the United States of America. Invited to the show "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, Moisiu said that he has known Kurti for years and appreciates him, but stressed that some of his actions are not well thought out.
"I've known the Prime Minister of Kosovo for a long time and I have respect for that guy, but he doesn't have some things in common. I told you."
Moisiu recalled the decisive role of the US in the creation of the state of Kosovo, calling on Kosovo politics not to take actions that conflict with strategic allies.
"If all the Albanians of Albania and Kosovo were to unite, we still wouldn't be able to make Kosovo if it weren't for America. Let's not do some things now that conflict."
The former president acknowledged that even international partners can make mistakes, but stressed that ways should always be found to defuse tensions, not to exacerbate them. "I can't say that they don't make wrong decisions, they make mistakes too, they are human, but you have to find a way to deal with them. Let's not clash now." (A2 Televizion)
