The head of the Democratic Party Youth Forum (FRPD), Besart Xhaferri, invited to the "Off the Record" studio with Andrea Dangli, on A2 CNN, explained why the opposition protest in Albania does not gather as many people as seen in the protests held in Belgrade.
"Albanian parents probably didn't appreciate the protest we held because it was vulgarized as a protest against TikTok. We were protesting against censorship," Xhaferri said.
When asked why young people in Tirana do not gather like the young people who protested in Belgrade, Xhaferi replied: "Young people have different ways of protesting. I think that young Albanians hold the record for protests because almost 1 million people have emigrated. They have protested by leaving this country forever. Being separated from your parents for life, trying your luck abroad, is the greatest act of protest against your country. Of course, the opposition has made a mistake in capitalizing on those young people who were still in the country and we certainly have our faults that those young people lost hope, but this is an opposition that has closed the chapter of mistakes."
