In front of the residents of the eighth unit in Tirana, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, signed a document pledging to solve the legalization problem within 90 days if he comes to power after May 11.
The democratic leader pledged to the citizens that the owners of the occupied land would be compensated at market value by the government.
"There will be no urbanization before legalization. There will be legalization before urbanization. Because these people blocked the process with this work. We will legalize it and then no one will block the road where it should pass."
This rule will not only apply in Tirana, Berisha claimed, but throughout the country, as he described the problem of legalizations as a "Gordian Knot".
"In this process, entire cities have been created, and to those who speak as if with contempt, I say to them that on the path of development and civilization of nations, urbanization, that is, the transition from rural areas to cities, is one of the most fundamental indicators of a society."
The former Prime Minister promised that upon coming to power, every procedure for legalizing properties would be carried out without any fees or other obstacles. (A2 Televizion)
