Together with the Prime Minister of Italy, dear friend Giorgia Meloni, at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, a special friend, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, we are finalizing the trilateral agreement for the underwater energy connection between Albania and Italy as well as the increase of solar energy production in Albania. There will be triple ownership."
Rama emphasized that there will be joint investments in increasing Albania's production capacities, making it independent of imports and exporting to the European Union, A2 CNN reports.
"It will be supported by joint investments in increasing Albania's production capacities. This serves our ambition to become independent from imports and gives us a role as an exporter in the European Union ."
Rama emphasized that Albania achieved the highest capacity of family or business self-producers from solar energy in the region and aims to increase it from the current 10% to 30% within the fourth mandate, he said, writes A2 CNN.
"Albania is the country with the highest capacity of family or business self-producers from solar energy in the region. Energy produced from solar energy has gone from 0-10% and the plan is to reach 30% within the fourth mandate."
According to Rama, Albania did not increase the price of energy despite the European crisis and from February 1st it will become the only European country to reduce the price of energy by 10%.
"With radical reform and significant investments, we will become the country with the lowest electricity prices in Europe and the region and save citizens 30 million euros on their electricity bills." (A2 Televizion)
