The former Minister of the Interior, Sandër Lleshaj, has considered the agreement made with Italy for housing immigrants as a failed initiative. Invited to Ditari at 19:00 with journalist Bruna Çifligu, Lleshaj said that this is an illegal agreement, which will not bring a solution to the problem in essence. He considers it dangerous and a violation of human rights.
"Italy does not lack a country, why does it want to do it outside its country? The initiative does not stand in any of its words, it is completely failed without being born", said Lleshaj.
"Meloni has a CV of not even a quarter of a page, he is in crisis"
The former minister sees it more as a failure of the Italian prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, who came to power with the promise that she would stop the flow of immigrants and not only did she not do it, but during her government it doubled.
"No Shengjini, but returning the whole of Albania to a waiting camp is not a solution, because the problem is bigger, Meloni is in crisis, he said he would expand immigration and now there has been a huge doubling, it is not remarkable for something else, there is a CV not even a quarter of a page long. He came with the promise that he will solve immigration, but now he has doubled down. It is a marketing solution, image than real. This cannot be resolved", said the former minister.
"Camp outside Europe, old trick"
The construction of a camp outside Europe, for Lleshajn, is a project that was not conceived by the prime ministers, Edi Rama and Giorgia Meloni, but by other people. Initially, Africa was thought of, but then Italy knocked on Italy's doors, which it found open.
"It's an old trick, there are others who have elaborated it as an idea, to find a solution outside of Europe, for an entirely European problem, it is supposed to be in Africa, some centers where the selection is done there, and this had a what sense and why controversial. We are in conditions where it has become impossible to build these centers where immigration originates, and that is why the idea from Italy was chosen to be built in Albania", said Lleshaj.
"Signed document on foot, many unanswered questions"
Former minister Sandër Lleshaj said that this initiative does not provide answers to many questions that arise. He brought a hypothetical case, such as the murder between 2 immigrants, who will investigate or judge, Albania or Italy, he said. On the other hand, he also focused on one detail, the signing of the document on foot, according to which it seemed like a rush on the part of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
"Protocol signed standing up, Meloni was in such a hurry that even at the moment of the ceremony they were standing up, without a chair, a simple detail, a document signed standing up, it will become an agreement after it passes through the parliament, it it raises more questions than it answers. What will happen if an immigrant kills another, who will investigate, who will judge him, or if they leave, run away to other countries, we will have another problem with these countries that will say they come from you", u he says.
