The leader of the 'Albania Becomes' movement, Adriatik Lapaj, has made strong accusations against the leader of the Nisma Thurje, Endri Shabani, calling him selfish.
In a press conference, Lapaj said that Shabani received less than 3,000 votes in total and Nisma Thurje received around 10,000 votes in total. This, according to him, is the reason why the mandate goes to the candidate with the most votes from the 'Albania Becomes' movement.
He added that the agreement with the Weaving Initiative is not simply about a mandate, but to keep the word given and to fulfill a public commitment with citizens, to give life to open lists, writes A2 CNN.
"Why can't I hand over the mandate to Endri Shabani? First, because he represents another political entity. I have no legal right to give a mandate to another party. The coalition was a union for elections and each party maintains its legal and political individuality. Second, because he is no longer the one being voted for.
Mr. Shabani received only 2966 votes. So the mandate was won beyond the votes of the Nisma Thurje and belongs to the open list of 'Albania Becomes'. The mandate was obtained with the votes of the 'Albania Becomes' movement. However, I emphasize that this is not an agreement for a mandate, but a battle to keep a given word, to respect a political agreement and to fulfill a public commitment made with the citizens, to give life to the open lists.
"We did not ask for the vote to become part of the old one. I have kept my word, but I regret Mr. Shabani's selfish attitude," Lapaj said, among other things, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
