Opposition protest, Rama: Inspired by the antics of a fugitive wanted by justice

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the protest called by the opposition this Saturday afternoon.

In his reaction, the head of government says that today's protest is "inspired by the slander of a fugitive from justice, for corruption and concealment of wealth. Meaning the statements made recently by the former number two of his government, now on the run, Arben Ahmetaj.

Rama ironically states that the opposition's protest should be welcomed because, according to him, it is a clear reflection that shows that the Democratic Party, as he puts it, cannot be an alternative in the May 11 elections.

According to the head of government, the DP will only be able to be reborn if it leaves behind its leader, Sali Berisha.

We recall that this is the Prime Minister's first reaction to the opposition protests, after he had chosen not to comment on them for a long time.

EDI RAMA ON THE "X" PLATFORM

"Today, the old owl of the opposition swamp has gone out with his swamp in protest, and the inspiration for the protest is the snarls of a fugitive wanted by justice for corruption and concealment of wealth.

This protest should be welcomed, because it is a clear reflection of the rotten alternative of a political swamp of degraded losers, which on May 11 Albanians must drain away by voting for the only worthy political force in Albania, the Socialist Party of Albania.

Only by abandoning the swamp of the old owl will the Democrats create space for the rebirth of a political opposition worthy of Albania as a member of the European Union, otherwise the losses will only deepen beyond May 11, when today's protesters will not only lose for the tenth time in a row, but also by the deepest difference with the Socialist Party, since 2013.  (A2 Televizion)
