Fewer taxes and more free initiative, this is what Sali Berisha promised during the presentation of the Democratic Party's economic program for the May 11 elections. The democratic leader promised that the emergency situation that the country is in, according to him, will be responded to with urgency, while also guaranteeing legal security for foreign investments.
"We will free Albanian citizens and businesses from the terrible burden of taxes, from the black hand of the state which extends into every process and act of their activity, seeking to plunder and rob them."
Alongside economic experts, Berisha also promised legal certainty so that foreign investors can invest in Albania.
"We will do everything to provide legal certainty to this country, today there is no justice system. Today a civil case takes 15 years, this is the greatest punishment. Today foreign investors cannot invest in Albania, they cannot invest."
Agriculture and farmers will also have an important place in the focus of the democratic program.
"We will take every measure to ensure that Albanians return to their country, so that their investments succeed. We will do everything to ensure that Albanian farmers become competitors with other countries. We will promote production and processing in this sector that employs half of Albanians."
