“We will use the fourth mandate as a self-correcting force.” This message was conveyed by Prime Minister Edi Rama to the Socialists at the May 11 victory celebration, where this political force received 83 mandates in the Assembly. In his speech, the leading socialist emphasized that the more the Socialist Party self-corrects, the more Albania will improve, Albanians will benefit, and our membership will be guaranteed within this decade. He also warned of changes in the leadership of the Socialist Party and in the government.
"Congratulations and thanks to everyone for the victory achieved together and thank you for the added value that each and every one brought here in this historic achievement for the Socialist Party. The party is not a goal, but a means to fight for goals, nor is victory a goal. But to achieve goals, you must win elections. We do not need victories to defeat others. This is not a sport, although it is very similar to sport, to fulfill the historical mission we have to change Albania forever by developing the economy, guaranteeing justice, improving education and health, strengthening security, increasing the international reputation of the homeland and making history with EU membership within this decade. We need to work on ourselves first and foremost. This time too, we will start with ourselves to properly share our minds with some things that need to be seen, understood and done differently at the level of the party leadership, the parliamentary group and the government, of course. We need complete understanding within ourselves to provide the Albanian people and the European family with words that match the deeds we will use." "The fourth mandate as a great self-correcting power. We have risen so high that no one believed and trying to reflect, I believe that above all this happened because we managed to get more out of ourselves after each victory. The more we self-correct, the more Albania will improve, the Albanians will benefit and our membership will be guaranteed within this decade."
The party taking place at the Brigades Palace will include, but not only, the SP candidates on the May 11 electoral lists. In these elections, the SP won a historic fourth term, securing a full 83 seats in the Albanian Parliament.
