The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, invited to the "Debat" studio by Alba Alishani, on A2 CNN, declared that the Socialist Party has fallen into great mourning.
"There is great optimism and strong confidence in the opposition for victory. I see this both among Albanians in Albania and those abroad. It has been a week since I answered the phone to the diaspora. They have fallen into a great mourning. 93% of Albanians are happy that a main pillar of corruption has been arrested, they come out and hold a rally in his defense," said Berisha.
When asked why the opposition did not protest after Veliaj's arrest to demand a technical government, Berisha replied: "Is there anything more pleasant than when Rama protests against himself? When Rama is forced to protest against himself, then he has taken the thorn in his side."
According to Berisha, "the opposition protested for 44 consecutive weeks for the realization of this arrest."
"Now, the fundamental problem of the citizens is Edi Rama. Because he (Erion Veliaj) has taken over. No one can ever escape the burning, it is an affair that exceeds all imagination," the democratic leader further emphasized.
