Kosovo and Albania are with each other in every circumstance and without any conditions. This is what the head of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, said at the joint session in Pristina, which he considered historic. In his speech, the Speaker of the Kosovar Parliament praised Albania for protecting the interests of Kosovo in the international arena, as he spoke about the attacks on Kosovo and the relations with Serbia.
"Historical session because it is the first that is happening in the Republic of Kosovo and in Pristina as a union between the assembly of our Republic and the Republic of Albania. To prove our unity in the face of political and geopolitical security challenges that accompany the region and the continent during this year. This union is evidence that Kosovo and Albania are with each other in any circumstance and without any condition. We cannot represent anything but the national interest".
From the floor of the assembly, Konjufca conveyed the message that Kosovo's right to protect its sovereignty cannot be considered an infringement of good neighborliness and there can be no normalization of relations with Serbia without mutual recognition.
"Albania has been vocal about the protection of Kosovo's interests in the international arena in the most important forums of the world and that the right of Kosovo to protect its sovereignty and integrity, to strengthen the law of the democratic state, cannot be considered an infringement of the neighborhood of nor escalation of relations with our neighbors. Serbia does not accept the status of a neighbor, but its hegemonic ambitions towards Kosovo are also in the constitution. There can be no normalization between Kosovo and Serbia without mutual recognition as two sovereign entities that do not contest each other. This is the solution for the relationship between Kosovo and Serbia. We are convinced that this will happen because we have Albania on our side".
Just like Albania, Kosovo too, Konjufca said, aims for integration despite the absurd measures, as he called the measures against Kosovo.
"As an assembly, we have had excellent cooperation and not only of the leaders, but concrete cooperation, and this has been a significant achievement for us. We represent the European ideal of our countries. We aim for integration. Albania has moved forward. That is what we aim for, despite the absurd measures of the EU. Kosovo remains the champion of democracy in the region and we should all be proud of that. Albanians have been allies of Western values in the Balkans".
For Speaker Konjufca, Kosovo also felt the direct or indirect threat from Russia and referred to the attack in Banjska and Ibër Lepenc, for which he blamed the Serbian president.
"In two months, it will be 3 years since Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and we, as a region of Kosovo, have felt the indirect and direct impacts. Kosovo is also closing this from elements that aim to destabilize Kosovo with terrorist and hybrid methods. The attack in Ibër Lepenc cannot be considered otherwise than a terrorist attack by those who refuse to accept Kosovo as a sovereign reality. This serious attack on our critical water and energy supply infrastructure comes a year after the serious attack in Banjska. The organizer of this attack is Raidocic, supported by President Vucic, who remains unpunished by justice in Serbia."
