The coordinator of the Blue Headquarters for the diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, expressed that she is aware that the task she has for the May 11 elections is difficult in such a short time, but added that she is not afraid of challenges.
Topalli made the comments on 'Ditari i Fundjavës' with journalist Erion Dushi, where he said that when he was in the first opposition of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, he tried to be threatened with a cane to the head for about 20 minutes and still did not back down.
She also called on the diaspora to register to vote, as according to the former parliamentarian, this is an opportunity for them to be an important decision-making factor in Albanian politics.
"I am aware of the challenges. I have also tried other challenges when I was in the first opposition. I have also tried the kalashnikov on my head for 20 minutes. And that has not made me go home and say 'no, I should not continue anymore, because I should not leave the children orphaned'.
But on the other hand, I know that half of Albanians are within Albanian territory and the other half in every corner of the world. I know that it is not easy in such a short time to make citizens aware that they have the right to vote.
"They have not stopped during these years through remittances, helping their families with money. In addition to their economic contribution, this time they should also become part of political activity. They can become factors for political turns, for rotations to fundamentally change the situation," said Topalli. (A2 Televizion)
