This Thursday, the parliament is expected to vote on the removal of Sali Berisha's immunity, after the approval he received in the council of mandates on Monday. At the same time, the opposition has also warned of a protest, which according to the democrats is a continuation of civil disobedience in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the capital's police have taken measures to maintain order and security during the democrats' protest. Since the early hours of the morning, Police cars are seen at the entrance to the Parliament building. The Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla entered the Assembly from the Murat Toptani pedestrian crossing.
A day ago, the Constitutional Court rejected the request of the democratic deputies for the interpretation of the constitutional article for the removal of immunity, thus opening the way for the Assembly to remove the mandate.
Afterwards, it will be the Special Prosecutor's Office that will decide what coercive measure will be requested for Sali Berisha.
