For one or two months, a state of emergency may be declared at the Sharra landfill as the storage capacities have been exhausted. This is the denunciation made by Belind Kelliçi, invited on Monday evening to "Debat" by Alba Alishani.
The member of the Presidency of the DP of Reestablishment, explained that the situation is getting out of control since incineration has not been carried out for 7 years and the volume of waste in the landfill is many times greater than what was originally planned.
"And therefore, we are facing a critical situation. A warning has been issued. I hope it doesn't happen. Waste is deposited, leveled with heavy tonnage machinery. Groundwater is being contaminated," he added.
According to Këlliç, the Tirana incinerator issue has already turned into a "hot potato" that the involved parties are trying to remove from their hands to avoid responsibility. (A2 Televizion)
