The Municipality of Tirana has been governed by a deputy mayor for 5 months, as the mayor, Erion Veliaj, continues to remain in prison. Under these conditions, it seems that the opposition is preparing for early elections, but they still do not have a common name.

Sali Berisha, asked about the proposals that articulate the idea of a non-political candidate, affirmed that he is ready to cooperate with everyone. "We are open to cooperating with all opposition political forces, but regarding the candidacy, that will be the discussion," he said, according to A2 CNN.

He continues to accuse Veliaj of corruption and other criminal offenses that he allegedly committed while serving as head of the Tirana Municipality, but he remains concerned about his condition, saying he is being mistreated in prison. "But if he fabricates Facebook statuses that were not written by him, then this is a crime. He has been deprived of his legal rights," Berisha said.

Asked about the Electoral College's decision that sealed the results in the last three districts, rejecting the opposition's claims that the elections were invalid, he claimed that he did not expect any surprises. "The Electoral College's decision is evidence of a complete and total political subjugation of those judges who do not know the law, but protect the government and protect the farce."

Despite the College's decision, the opposition leader claims that their battle will continue as they do not recognize the May 11 elections. (A2 Televizion)
