The fever of the race within the Democratic Party has begun to appear, with several branch leaders submitting their resignations to take part in the Primaries. Despite the process that has begun, a decision has not yet been made on how to proceed to the Primaries, with three variants on Sali Berisha's table, reports A2 CNN.
"There is a variant that they be branches. There is another variant that they be regions. There is a proposal that they be a national list," Berisha said in a press conference.
The leader of the Democrats tried not to take a position on which variant he would prefer, but again showed where the vote in the National Council could lean. "Of course, the national list is a national list, but as long as the system is regional, I believe that you are obliged to respect the regional system. Can they be grafted and a double vote be used? I can't say that, we need to think about it with experts and specialists..."
Berisha also warned of changing the statute of the Democratic Party to save political leaders from primaries. "I have told them that the National Council will decide how to deal with the district leaders. I cannot take responsibility for how the National Council judges it. But a leader is a leader and he did not grow there, he came there through voting and confidence processes. So how will it be..."
The opposition leader confirmed that he will consult again with the party's lawyers before deciding which instruction for the primaries he will send to the National Council for approval. (A2 Televizion)
