Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli has stated that the big loser from the suspension of US funds for Albanian institutions and organizations is civil society.
Vangjeli made the comments on the 'Debate' show with journalist Alba Alishani on A2 CNN, where he said that some of these civil society organizations, whose liberal activity conflicts with Trump's policies, will have their funds permanently blocked.
He also added that justice and security are the two key sectors in Albania that need US funds and guarantees.
"Justice and Security, these are the two key areas in which we desperately need not just money, but also the guarantee that comes from the US. These are the two most important sectors in my opinion."
I say that even after the verification that will be done, these two sectors will pass this kind of test and perhaps there could be greater help at this point. Because Albania's security, despite its completely modest size, has its own impact on what Trump considers to be primary, which is 'US security above all else'.
"Albania is one of and perhaps there is a twist in this whole big mess. The value is very small, but the symbolism is influential. The big loser in this story will be civil society. Trump will use the scissors on a large part of civil society," Vangjeli said, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
