The issue of coastal properties was the topic of Sali Berisha's electoral meeting in Himara, with the leading democrat accusing Mayor Vangjel Tavo and Prime Minister Edi Rama of wanting to plunder the lands in Gjipe.
"I say to Vangjel Tavo, your mission... bravo, that's right. He fully deserves your disgust. He deserves it because only a missionary of Edi Rama's mafia intentions came, who with his family will plunder the lands of the Monastery of Scutari, will plunder Gjipene, at a time when their family had, according to evidence, four goats and three pigs. And he says it himself, Baba Piloja as Edi Rama tells him, that we had no land at all, and now he comes to us with 224 thousand square meters of land and says that I have it on top of the mountain, the land borders the sea. Edi Rama, you will never enjoy that land. The land belongs to these residents, it belongs to the monastery and you will never take it," said the leader of the DP.
Berisha vowed that the socialist leader would never enjoy the land in the Himara area and promised the citizens its return and compensation, while also providing them with documents.
"Today in Albania there are laws that are a copy of the laws of 1946. Edi Rama has created an agency, in which he has placed the entire territory of the Albanian state as property. We pledge that we will respect the inviolability of property, we will return the property in every case that it exists. The DP and its alliance are a conservative alliance. We strongly believe that only by being based on these values can we build the Magnificent Himara. Therefore, I am here to pledge before you that the next government, the inviolability of property, its return and compensation, providing you with documents, all legalizations and everything you have, will have absolute priority", declared Berisha.
