The Central Election Commission has received the ballots for voters from abroad and has started packaging them. The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, stated that the process is continuing normally. He made a call to voters in the diaspora: not to delay the re-sending of the ballots.
The CEC administration has turned into a distribution center, packaging ballots one by one in envelopes that will be sent by mail to the declared addresses of Albanians registered as voters from abroad, writes A2 CNN.
“Once the ballot has been filled in with the citizen’s choice, it must then be returned to Albania through the envelope contained in the package sent by the CEC,” said the State Commissioner. Regarding this process, Celibashi said that he has received the necessary guarantees from the international postal operator and appealed to voters to complete the procedure as soon as possible, so that the vote arrives in Tirana on time. Celibashi added: “Fill in the ballot, call the postman and he will come to pick it up at home.”
Over 245,000 Albanians have registered as voters from abroad. The preparation of the envelopes has attracted the attention of political parties, which so far seem calm about the process.
The importance of this moment was also highlighted by internationals, with OSCE-ODIHR observers taking their places to monitor the entire process. (A2 Televizion)
