A2 CNN has obtained documents showing that Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has twice requested the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to obtain a US visa to travel there.
From the document, it appears that the request bears the signatures of 15 Albanian organizations in the US, which are also the sponsors of the $6 million payment on behalf of the DP for the lobbying contract in the US.
The request was published on the US Department of Justice website, but has not received any response. The same website also continues to publish the "non grata" sanctioning of Sali Berisha.
“We respectfully request the U.S. Department of State to issue an entry-exit visa to Prof. Sali Berisha, enabling him to participate in these important events in the United States. His presence will reinforce the strong ties between Albania and the United States, furthering our shared commitment to democracy and the rule of law,” the document states. (A2 Televizion)
