Enkelejd Alibeaj with the "Right 1912" party and Dashamir Shehi's LZHK have formalized their coalition for the May 11 parliamentary elections.
"We will present ourselves with a joint open list for deputies. We stand by our deep conviction that only cooperation through the joint open list guarantees the free choice of citizens to send their representatives to the Assembly of the Republic of Albania," said Alibeaj.
The leader of this coalition will be the head of LZHK Dashamir Shehi, who once again invited other parties to join this grouping, including Lulzim Basha.
Although the constitutional court ruled otherwise, the coalition will apply open lists based on the will of all members. This principle, explained Fabian Topollaj, was one of the main reasons why Bindja Demokratike merged with LZHK.
"This is the only coalition that is opening the lists itself, the very clear reason why Bindja has joined the LZHK. These are the reasons why we have also left the DP," said Topollaj.
Political parties have until February 25 to register for the May 11 elections, while March 7 is the deadline for registering coalitions. (A2 Televizion)
