Flag Day is always experienced with emotion by Albanians living in the United States of America. However, the celebration of the Albanians of Philadelphia started earlier. On Thanksgiving Day, dozens of Albanians, adults and children, paraded on the streets of Frakford Boulevard.
Dressed in red and black, with flags in their hands and accompanied by Albanian music, they celebrated the independence of Albania, the day that unites all Albanians. Over 500 Albanians from Philadelphia celebrated Flag Day at the premises of the "Sons of Shqipes" Association. For two decades, the association has in its mission not only the unification of Albanians living in America, but also the teaching of the mother tongue for children born in Philadelphia.
Parades of Albanians for Flag Day have already become a tradition and are also organized in other American states, where Albanians live and work. (A2 Televizion)
