Urinary tract disorders are one of the most common problems in men. This health problem becomes a serious concern due to the way the urinary tract undergoes changes. Frequent urination, at night, but also with problems in completely emptying the bladder, becomes a real nightmare for men. Invited to the studio of the show Diagnozë by Freskida Miloti, Prof. Asc. Marsida Duli, nephrologist from Premium Clinic, showed how men's lives change after these disorders, as she appealed for medical visits to catch this problem in time.
"Urinary tract disorders for men are a nightmare for men, for the sole fact, because it is precisely these disorders that force them to wake up at night and go to the toilet to urinate. They are also afraid of some other signs that accompany these urinary disorders, such as burning during urination, incontinence or otherwise urinary incontinence, continuous urination and dripping, especially when the urination process ends, sometimes even getting their shoes wet as a result of continuous dripping after the urination process is complete, or other signs related to failure to empty, the feeling of incomplete emptying and continuing to urinate at a second moment, or even a lengthening of the period between the initiation of urination and the process of emptying the bladder." - said the nephrologist.
Untreated urinary disorders can lead to a number of health and social problems. In addition to damage to the urinary tract, men's sex lives are also at risk due to the likelihood of impotence, fertility, and problems with erection and ejaculation.
"All problems related to the urinary tract in men should be diagnosed and treated as early as possible, to avoid all the consequences related to these disorders, especially those in the sexual sphere, because it impacts fertility, impacts potency, therefore causing infertility, impotence, as well as ejaculation problems, erection problems and so on. When we examine and screen our patients, in addition to examining the urinary tract, we also examine the entire component part of the sexual tract. We should not exclude sexually transmitted diseases, we should definitely check the partner as well, one of the main strategies for diagnosis and success of therapy is at the same time the diagnosis and investigations that we also do on the partner of the patient who suffers from urinary tract symptoms." - explained the doctor.
Many men associate urinary tract problems with aging, not referring any concerns to a doctor. Frequent night awakenings, or various problems with urination, can be treated effectively in time. Some tests and a consultation with a doctor can reveal the causes and then orient the patient for treatment.
"What we tell patients is also a call to citizens, is not to suffer in silence. Most suffer in silence, because they think and attribute waking up at night, urination, urination disorders to aging. It is not just aging, urination disorders, today there are causes, today it is very simple, it is identified and the good news is that it can be solved with a few things and it can be solved very simply. What we recommend is to do some basic examinations starting from a urine test, blood test and an echo, this is how we identify the basic cause, then, if in the initial examinations, the basic ones that we call, we see any changes, then we move on to a second, more detailed phase of examinations, if it is always necessary." - advised the nephrologist.
