Although it is a separate municipality, Belshi no longer has the former hospital. The same building has already been turned into a health center, where specialist doctors are missing. The director of this center explains the new way of functioning.
"It's called the 24/7 social-health center A Belsh-Rrasë. So it works as a health center. There are family doctors, 6 family doctors and 30 nurses."

But how do the citizens of Belsh feel about this new form of functioning of the health service, and especially the elderly who are more in need of both consultations and visits with specialist doctors.
"There is only a general practitioner here. For visits we go to Elbasan, get the recommendation from here and go to Elbasan. It is a cost for us, you will run away to Elbasan and come back."
Although officially the health center of Belshi includes services for 17 thousand residents, in reality the emergency near this center serves about 50 thousand residents and the director of the center says that he would welcome the placement of specialist doctors in this center.
"In the event that the relevant structures judge, assess that there is indeed a need for specialist doctors of any type of field for the number of population and geographical space, normally we welcome them."

The health service is seen as a support for the development of tourism, since for several years Belshi has been frequented by a high number of visitors, who in many cases have needed specialized medical assistance. (A2 Televizion)
