Albania concluded the second round of negotiations with Latvia on the agreement in the field of social security.

The second round of talks took place in the Latvian capital, Riga, writes A2.

The Albanian delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Olta Manjani, while the Latvian delegation was led by the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and EU Policies at the Ministry of Welfare of Latvia, Ineta Tāre.

The parties reached agreement on the framework and administrative agreements, which guarantee full social protection for citizens who work and contribute in both countries, in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The agreement will be subject to approval procedures by both governments and the respective parliaments.

It represents another important step in Albania's European integration process and in strengthening bilateral cooperation.

This initiative brings to 21 the number of bilateral agreements negotiated by Albania in the field of social protection, of which 13 are with European Union member states. (A2 Televizion)
