Tuberculosis among young people, lifestyle increases cases among them, the disease also in prisons

Even young people are being affected by tuberculosis. Their lifestyle and behavior are becoming the cause of the spread of this disease among young people. Last year alone, 232 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Doctors say with concern that in Albania, tuberculosis is prevailing among young people and prisoners. Pulmonologists talk about the signs of the disease that can initially be confused with the flu or its consequences.

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease that is transmitted through the respiratory tract. The vaccine administered on the first day of life does not make us immune to infection, but it protects against severe forms of the disease.

For this reason, tuberculosis deaths in Albania are at very low levels. Currently, Tirana holds the first place for the most increased tuberculosis cases, followed by Shkodra and Dibra. (A2 Televizion)
