Diogo Jota's tragedy, from lung surgery to the ferry to England

Shocking new details have emerged from the tragic accident that claimed the lives of Liverpool footballer Diego Jota along with his brother, Andre Silva.

While he was overtaking in his Lamborghini in a province of Spain, the car's rear tire exploded, causing the footballer to lose control.

As reported in the English media, the 28-year-old had recently undergone lung surgery and for this reason doctors had advised him to avoid air travel. But fate can sometimes be tragic.

The choice to cross Spain by car and then travel by sea to Great Britain as in the case of Diogo Joto proved fatal for the footballer and his 25-year-old brother.

After this tragic event, Liverpool decided to permanently retire the number 20, the number that the Portuguese striker wore on his shirt. Diogo Joto arrived at Liverpool in 2020 and was the protagonist in the Reds' 20th title and wore the same number on his back.

Numerous messages of condolence have been sent to the family and the Reds. Fans have laid wreaths of flowers near the Anfield stadium, while many European teams and beyond have started training with a minute's silence in honor of the Portuguese.
