The first half started at a high pace from the red and black team, writes A2. The first period ended 16-19 in favor of the red and black team, while the second started even better with 4 three-pointers in a row that deepened the red and black team's advantage to 11 points.
The Austrians woke up at the end of the second period and the teams went into the break with the score 31-34.
In the remaining half, the home team increased the pressure, but Albania was not afraid and remained ahead. In the fourth period, the Austrians reopened the game with several consecutive three-pointers, however, nothing to worry about from the red and black team who managed the game well and in the end everything ended with the score 67-78.
The basketball player who stood out in the end was Eldi Hysaj who scored 20 points. A moral victory for the red and blacks who showed character and strength in front of 1500 fans in Vienna. Their journey ends here as they remain in last place in the group for the 2027 World Cup pre-qualifiers, while Austria had secured passage one match earlier.
