Max Verstappen got behind the wheel of Red Bull's new car for the 2025 season for the first time. The RB21 took to the Bahrain circuit, where Formula 1 testing has begun. The four-time world champion was joined by teammate Liam Lawson, who replaced Sergio Perez.
"Last year we had some limitations, the most important thing is that during these days we try to see if the car has improved. But this first day of testing serves to get to know the car better. Further, we hope to learn something more," said Verstappen.
"It's not a new feeling for me, because I was part of the team as a reserve driver. Of course I'm excited about the fact that I'm going to go down to the track. We're all motivated. I'm looking forward to the start of the season," said Lawson.
The RB21 is the first car that Red Bull has designed since Adrian Newey left for Aston Martin, writes A2.
Christian Horner, the boss of Red Bull, said: "With last year's car we won more races than anyone else, we won nine Grands Prix and four Sprint races. When you get the most out of a car, improvements are not easy. We hope this car will be easier to work with. The single-seater will continue to develop from the first race to the last."
Last season, Red Bull slipped to third place in the Constructors' Championship, behind McLaren and Ferrari, after winning the previous two editions. (A2 Televizion)
