Seven-time world champion and the most successful driver in Formula 1 history, Lewis Hamilton, has officially started his adventure at Ferrari. On his first day as part of the legendary sports car manufacturer, the Briton visited the headquarters in Maranello.
This comes almost a year after the surprise announcement that he would be leaving Mercedes, the team where he won six of his seven world championships. At the age of 40, he has taken on the difficult mission of returning Ferrari to the top of Formula 1.
"There are some that are remembered forever and this first day as a Ferrari driver is one of them," Hamilton wrote on his Instagram profile, according to A2.
"I'm lucky that in my career I have achieved things that I could not have imagined, but a part of me has always dreamed of competing in red. I am fulfilling a dream and I couldn't be happier," added the Briton.
On his first day with the Red Devils, Hamilton got his seat size and tried out the racing simulator. Due to weather conditions, he is not expected to take to the track in the new car until midweek.
The official Formula 1 tests will start in Bahrain, from February 26 to 28. Last year, the British driver recorded his worst performance in the standings, finishing only seventh, but he still managed to win two races after two seasons. Alongside him at Ferrari, the other driver will be Charles Leclerc. (A2 Televizion)
