The Ferrari debut of 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton took place this Wednesday as predicted, at the Fiorano track, at the home of the Italian red-head.
Sir Lewis' new adventure began at 09:10 on a grey but not cold day. Shortly after climbing into the Ferrari SF-23 number 44, Lewis waved to the many fans who were waiting to see him piloting on the edges of the track.
Only one lap around the track before returning to the pits for a check. Ten minutes later Hamilton started driving again for about ten laps with two initial tests to familiarise himself with the starting procedures.
The Englishman's first morning's work schedule as a driver of the red-headed car ended after two hours. The work on the track (about thirty laps in total) was followed by a meeting with the engineers, necessary to share his first impressions of the car.
Charles Leclerc will begin testing in Fiorano this afternoon, returning to pilot the red-head with whom he finished the World Championship in fifth place.
For his "premiere" at Fiorano, Hamilton appeared with an almost entirely yellow helmet, with red decorations, which he himself had presented via social networks on Tuesday evening and which will probably be used for the pre-season test. (A2 Televizion)
