The Giro d'Italia, for the first time in history, started from Albania.
The prestigious cycling event opened its 108th edition with the "Grand Start", which includes the first 3 stages in our country. The first stage, Durrës-Tirana, 160 kilometers long, started at 1:10 p.m.
The neutral start took place on the "Egnatia" Road in Durrës, while the finish of the stage is expected at 17:00, on the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, in Tirana, in front of the Palace of Congresses, writes A2.
After the first 65 kilometers of flat terrain, cyclists will face the climb of Graceni, before reaching Tirana, to then continue with the climb to Surrel, with a gradient of up to 13%.
The last kilometers continue with the descent from Surrel, to end with the finish on flat terrain. (A2 Televizion)
