Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have split, three years after announcing their engagement, A2 CNN reports. The couple, who have a daughter together, have confirmed they are no longer together, following much speculation about the state of their relationship.
According to US Weekly, which was the first to officially report the news, Bloom and Perry's representatives released a statement saying: "Orlando and Katy have gradually changed their relationship over the past few months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to appear together as a family, as their shared priority is and always will be raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."
The news comes a week after it was widely reported that Katy Perry, who is currently on tour in Australia, did not attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Venice, even though Bloom was invited. This increased speculation that the celebrity couple, who had been together for nine years, may have split.
On Thursday, Bloom posted a series of cryptic quotes from Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist Carl Jung on Instagram. Many of them mentioned love, power, loneliness and addiction. One of them said: “Loneliness comes not from the lack of people around, but from the inability to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
Bloom and Perry began dating in 2016. In 2020, they became parents to their daughter, Daisy Dove. In an interview with Trevor Noah last year, Bloom said that he wouldn't change his relationship with Perry for anything. "I wouldn't change it for anything, even when sometimes it's like, 'How do we do it?' Because we have these two giant careers and lives, and hers is like a universe of its own," the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor said.
