50 dead and 118 injured in Macedonia, families seek information about relatives,

After the serious tragedy at the discotheque in Kocani, some families are trying to get information about their relatives through social networks. Photos with the phone numbers of family members have been published on social networks to provide information.

North Macedonia's Health Minister Arben Taravari said that 118 people have been admitted to hospitals in Kocani, Shtip and Skopje. All capacities have been put into operation.

All patients have been hospitalized and are receiving appropriate treatment. Taravari declined to provide details about the health condition of the injured. He said he will announce this after visiting all hospitals in Skopje, Kocani and Stip and talking to the doctors treating them.

Local media report that state President Gordana Siljanovksa Davkova visited the injured at the Saint Naum Clinic for Surgical Diseases in Ohrid a few minutes ago, Alsat writes.

She expressed deep regret for the tragedy in which many young people lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. She said that assistance has been provided by health authorities from Serbia and Bulgaria.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed his horror at the tragedy in Kocani. He said that this is a difficult day for Macedonia. The loss is very great, the pain of the family cannot be described.

"In these moments of deep sorrow, we are with those who lost their loved ones. The people and the Government will do everything to alleviate the pain and to help in these difficult moments. I call on all competent institutions, health services, local authorities to take all measures to help the injured and to provide appropriate support to the affected families", emphasizes Mickoski. He warned that during the day he will address the public with more information about the steps taken.
