Erdogan: Netanyahu is the biggest threat to security in the Middle East

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu poses the "biggest threat" to security in the Middle East. The statement was made during a phone call with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and was shared in a post by the Turkish Presidency on the social network X.

"Netanyahu has shown once again that he is the biggest threat to the security of the region," Erdogan was quoted as saying during the conversation with the Qatari leader.

According to the official post, Erdogan underlined that he has engaged in intensive diplomatic contacts regarding the clashes caused by Israeli attacks on Iran, emphasizing that he will continue efforts to end the spiral of violence in the region, writes A2 CNN.

The Turkish president also stressed that the Israeli attacks should not distract attention from the humanitarian crisis and acts he calls genocide in Gaza. He warned that the incidents should not be allowed to spill over into Syria, increasing the risk of a wider regional conflict.

Since the start of Israel's war in Gaza, Erdogan has been one of Israel's harshest and most vocal critics on the international stage, frequently accusing it of being a "terrorist state" and comparing Netanyahu to Hitler. (A2 Televizion)
