French media reports that the government is considering distributing survival manuals to every family in the country with instructions on how to react to a possible armed conflict, including nuclear attacks.
The initiative is expected to pass through the government very soon, and if approved, the 20-page brochure will be sent to families before the summer.
The manual is divided into three parts which include advice on how citizens can protect themselves and their families if a threat becomes imminent, with a list of emergency numbers, radio channels and a reminder to close doors and windows if the threat is nuclear.
He suggests preparing "survival kits" that should contain at least six liters of water, food, batteries and a flashlight, as well as basic medical supplies including paracetamol, and compresses.
"The purpose of this document is to ensure the resilience of the population to all types of crises, be they natural, technological, cyber or security-related," said a spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office.
The report comes after Emmanuel Macron said France would accelerate and increase orders for Rafale fighter jets, bolstering the country's air force to prepare if it wants to avoid war.
Earlier this month, Macron called on France and Europe to prepare to confront the Russian threat and the possibility of America's withdrawal from the continent. (A2 Televizion)
