Ukraine's $7 billion attack, Medvedev warns of Russian retaliation

Following the Ukrainian attack on Russian military air bases on June 1, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev says the Kremlin's retaliation is "inevitable."

" To all those who are worried and expecting revenge, you should be worried: this is a characteristic of normal people. Revenge is inevitable ," the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council said in a post on Telegram.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Moscow's new raid on Sumy, saying "they attacked to hit civilians."

Meanwhile, in the new round of direct talks in Istanbul, the Russian delegation has presented a series of very tough demands to negotiate peace, even for a simple ceasefire.

To stop the war, Russia demands that Kiev withdraw its troops from the four partially occupied regions, handing them over to Moscow's forces, or, alternatively, demobilize and end foreign military aid.

Zelensky has responded by calling on Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russia to "force" it to stop the fighting. And the US president, according to the White House, is open to an invitation from his Turkish counterpart to hold trilateral peace talks in Turkey with Russian and Ukrainian leaders. (A2 Televizion)
