Etna, one of the active volcanoes in southern Italy has spewed ash and lava. Mount Etna, whose height is about 3,300 meters on the island of Sicily, began spewing ash and lava last night.
In the statement of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) for the city of Catania, it is known that there was a powerful flow of lava from the crater in the southeast of Etna and the ash reached a height of approximately 4500 meters.
Foreign media reports noted that Etna's lava flow could be seen from miles away and that aircraft flying through the region were issued a code red warning due to volcanic activity.
Many roads and vehicles are covered with ash in the settlements around the volcano, such as the town of Zafferana. Etna is the highest active volcano in continental Europe. (A2 Televizion)
