Russia will have ready in 2025, the new combat aircraft of the "spy" type, Su-75 Checkmate. This is what the Vice President of the Russian government and at the same time the Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Madurov, said recently.

Russian state news agency TASS reports that Madurov has provided details on the progress of the Su-75 Checkmate development program, revealing that there is strong interest in the international market for the fifth-generation fighter.

He further explained that over the past two years, several changes and adjustments have been made to the prototype that engineers presented for the first time in 2021, at the Dubai Air Show. According to Madurov, the design of the fighter plane, the control systems, as well as the weapons systems and the ammunition it will carry, have been improved.

The Su-75 Checkmate is a single-engine fighter jet that is being built based on the technology used in its sibling, the Su-57 spy. According to Russian engineers, it will have a payload of more than 7 tons, being equipped with air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.

It will have the ability to travel at speeds of up to Mach 1.8, with an operational range of 3,000 kilometers, capable of hitting a significant number of enemy targets simultaneously.

Recently, manufacturer United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has filed a series of patents with the Russian Federal Intellectual Property Service, revealing interesting modifications to the original Su-75 design.

These patents hint that UAC plans to develop a two-seater version of the Russian "spy" and an unmanned aircraft variant. The modifications increase the aircraft's internal capacity, enabling it to carry more air-to-air missiles and have a larger fuel capacity.

In addition to its role in training future Su-75 crews, the two-seat version of this aircraft could potentially serve as a "command center" for Loyal Wingman-type drones and unmanned combat aircraft. (A2 Televizion)
