A Ukrainian drone attack damaged a power line and caused extensive damage to a railway station building in Russia's southern Volgograd region, the regional administration said on Monday.

An unexploded drone fell onto railway tracks near the Archeda train station, the regional administration said on the Telegram messaging app, citing Volgograd region governor Andrei Bocharov.

"No damage to the tracks has been reported," the administration said, A2 writes.

Russia's state news agency TASS reported that several regional trains were delayed in the area. Flights at the regional airport in the city of Volgograd, which is the administrative center of the wider Volgograd region, were suspended for several hours before resuming around 3 a.m., Russia's civil aviation authority said.
Russia's defense ministry said its units destroyed a total of 61 Ukrainian drones overnight, including six over the Volgograd region. The ministry reports only the number of drones destroyed, not how many were launched by Ukraine.

The regional administration quoted Bocharov as saying the attack was "massive" and targeted energy and transport infrastructure.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported the downing of more than 90 Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea region and other areas. The list of affected areas did not include any information on damage or casualties.

Ukrainian media reported extensively on the fire in Sochi. In the more than three-year war of Russian aggression, the Ukrainian leadership has repeatedly declared that it is taking the war back to the aggressor's country. Drone strikes have targeted military logistics inside Russia, including fuel depots, ammunition depots and transport routes. (A2 Televizion)
