Fighting between Israel and Hamas in the south of Gaza has been temporarily stopped. The news was announced by the Israeli army in a post on the "X" platform.
"A local tactical pause will come into effect today in Rafa at 14:00, with the aim of allowing the further passage of humanitarian aid."
A further announcement written in Arabic specified that the break would begin in the El Geneina neighborhood.
These pauses are not new news as they are imposed from time to time in different parts of Gaza. Until recently, Rafah was a relatively peaceful area, mostly left out of the fighting.
However, after the ceasefire with Hamas ended last Friday, the IDF has targeted the area more intensively. (A2 Televizion)
