Nine days after the elections in Kosovo, votes remain uncounted. In a press conference, spokesman Valmir Elezi said that work is continuing with great intensity to announce the results and that so far 78 percent of the votes for candidates for MPs have been counted.

Elezi also spoke about the ballot packages from the diaspora, saying that 2,000 packages out of about 28,000 that were evaluated were rejected, writes A2.

Asked if there is an exact date for when the results will be announced, Elezi stressed that they are following the steps foreseen by the new election law.

Elezi added that the counting of votes from outside Kosovo, conditional votes and votes from people with special needs will begin as soon as the counting in municipal centers is completed and as soon as the process of evaluating them is completed.

Based on CEC data, 12,801 conditional votes remain to be verified. Meanwhile, the number of votes cast by persons with special needs is 2,597 votes. In past election processes for the Assembly of Kosovo, such as those of 2014, 2017 and 2021, the CEC needed 18 days in each process to announce the final results and 8 or 9 days to certify the final results.
